Sylvan Nymphs
The small, yet powerful, creatures of the forests of Horeilifei dwell in the highest concentration in the East Forests beyond the Iron Lake. The Sylvan Nymphs range in size: the males are about 10-15cm in height, while the females can range between 14-18cm. They all have translucent fragile wings on their backs and emit a colored glow. The color of their glow is random like humans eye color with no implications as to power or skill. Most Sylvan Nymphs are very shy creatures. They are extremely intelligent and incredibly powerful in almost every school of magic. They train from birth in these skills. One nymph could easily be killed by a human; however, once 2 or three begin to work together their power grows exponentially. Some humans have sought to capture and abuse or enslave the a Sylvan Nymphs as a pet for amusement or to harness its powers. This has usually resulted in a horrible "accident" for if the human is lucky enough to avoid being gang attacked by hordes of angry nymphs, he often makes a small slip, allowing the single nymph to utilized his/her powers. The most common defense of a Sylvan Nymph is to use a morphing spell where they shrink their opponent down to their own size or smaller and then over power them. This usually completely surprises the human. The only humans known to have had true friendships with a nymph are wizards or clerics. Sylvan Nymphs live for 300 years usually.
