The Realm of the Bird People
Quite simply, what it says. The Realm of the Bird People in inhabited by the elusive and quiet bird people. The Island of Down-Flight is entirely under their control: from the western mountains, across the Avian Rainforest, to the mouthy of the Wind River.
Most of the Isle of Down-Flight is thick rainforest, ranging from temperate rainforest in the north, to more tropical and "cloud forest" in the south. This forest is very lush, drawing on the near constant rainfall patterns and misting clouds on the island. All of the Avian cities rest high in the mountains or trees for practical and strategic purposes.
Birds form the dominant part of the food chain and biosphere on the Isle of Down-Flight. Most land predators do not exist on the island, allowing for many subspecies of small ground dwelling birds such as Kiwis and Dodos. Other large bipedal birds, some of which cannot fly, also exist on the island. Large raptor birds make up much of the island's predatory force in the from of falcons, ravens, hawks, etc. Scavengers such as condors also patrol the coastlines with sea-birds.
Lastly, the Isle of Down-Flight, with the help of the Avians, is home to the massive social breeds of birds. A breed of carriar-pidgeon and massive flocks of small song birds reside on the island and blanket the skies with their numbers.
Often the Avians learn much from the outside world from their unique ability to communicate with the simplest of birds. Migratory birds often inform them of outside events.
