The Shimmering City
This city is built over a great number of hot springs which allows the inhabitants to gain easy heat and makes this locations a perfect place for a city. The buildings of the city are built of the legendary Coradda Crystal, a clear crystal that is found only in the hills of the Frozen Tear and can be mined in large blocks like common stone. Thus, the Shimmering City has gained a reputation for being beautiful, especially in the dark depths of winter when its sorcerer leaders (the city is rules by a council of 3 sorcerers) light bright white beacons of flame that refract through the Coradda Crystal buildings and glow luminously. This helps keep spirits high in the dark months of winter while the people bath in the glowing hot springs under the city streets in the massive and lavish communal baths. The Shimmering City is home to the School of the Elemental Arts, an exclusive school for the training of human sorcerers. The 3 sorcerers who rule the city are said to be extremely old, having been kept alive using various incantations and special spells. Their long white hair and beards make them easily noticeable. They are said to be of great power and they keep the city pure of any "unwanted" by sending those they find unworthy to the diamond mines of the Ice Twins. This oligarchy has ruled the city for over two hundred years, before then it was ruled by a council of 24 sorcerers. The Three who rule now stepped up during a brief period of civil unrest and have kept order ever since.
