The Mudmen

The "Mudmen", or Sons of the Earth and Water, have a humanoid form with oily brown skin that appears to be always wet. They have wide mouths and no necks or chins. Most Mudmen so terrorize intruders into their realm by their rather strange appearance that many believe them to be evil creatures. Mudmen have glowing red, yellow, or orange eyes and are at home in bogs and fetid swamps. They often like to carry "lure lamps." Lure lamps are bright, vivid colored lamps that they use to see, hunt, attract prey (such as giant moths or fish), and signal others with. The primary weapon of a Mudman is his fishing spear. The Mudmen also pay great attention to their community shamans who are said to have mighty "powers". Mudmen live for approximately 400 years.
